AO Pay’s Direct Deposits make payments simple and efficient. Customers select their bank and are directed to a payment page displaying account details and a unique reference. They complete the payment through their online banking, and once the funds are received, AO Pay updates the transaction status and sends an instant notification to the merchant, ensuring a smooth and reliable process.

How to Deposit using Direct Deposits
- On the AO Pay Payment Page, Select Your sending Bank
- You will be presented with account details and Unique Reference to use for Payment
- Log into your Bank Internet Banking and process EFT using the details provided, making sure to use the correct amount and reference
- For quicker turnaround, be sure to select Immediate Payment
I used the incorrect reference
If you paid a using the incorrect reference, you will need to reach out to our support team. As soon as funds have been received we can allocate the transaction accordingly.
I paid a different amount to what was initiated
If you paid a different amount to what was set on the Merchants platform, this will go into a manual recon process and may experience longer delays. The AO Pay team will notify the merchant once the funds have been received.
How long does it take?
Direct Deposits can take anywhere from 2 minutes to 48 hours to complete. It depends on the whether an immediate payment was done or not as well as the time of day. Transactions done outside of banking hours experience a longer clearing time compare to those done within banking ours
Are there any limits?
You are only limited to your Internet Banking/Banking App Limits
Do all merchants support Direct Deposits?
No, only merchants approved by AO Pay are able to accept Direct Deposits.
